Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G Review: A brilliant Low-Cost Flagship

Samsung Galaxy S20 FE

The Snapdragon CPU in the Galaxy S20 FE 5G fixes the flaws of the 4G model. But does it make it a good buy in 2021?

Samsung Galaxy S20 FE (LTE), which was released last year, has shown to be a strong challenger in the low-cost flagship market. While it performed admirably in the majority of our testing, there were a few flaws.

It did become a little warm when stressed, and its battery life was only average; both of these issues were handled better by the OnePlus 8T (Review) at the same price point.

Samsung will release Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G in India in 2021, which is a 5G version of the Galaxy S20 FE 35,970 (Review).

It’s essentially the same phone, except instead of the Exynos 990. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor (along with the X55 5G modem). Is the move to a Qualcomm CPU enough to fix the issues we had with the LTE version? Does it make sense to buy a smartphone with a year-old processor at this pricing point in 2021? Let’s see what we can find out!

Price of Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G – India

In India, the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G costs Rs. 47,999. It comes in a single 8GB RAM + 128GB storage combination, unlike the 4G model. Cloud Navy, Cloud Mint, and Cloud Lavender are the three finishes available. The Galaxy S20 FE 5G competes for a low price with the OnePlus 9 (Review), ASUS ROG Phone 5 (First Impressions), and Vivo X60 Pro (Review), all of which start at roughly Rs. 49,999.

Design of the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G

Design of the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G

There are no differences in appearance between the Galaxy S20 FE 4G and 5G variants. The phone features the same design and button layout as the 4G model, with the power and volume keys on the right.

The main speaker is located on the bottom of the device, adjacent to the USB Type-C connector and the microphone.

The earpiece speaker is disguised in a tiny slit at the top of the display and doubles as a second speaker to provide a strong and clear stereo sound.

With a color-matched camera module that barely protrudes from the back panel, the entire design appears clean and minimalist.

A metal frame is sandwiched between a layer of display glass on the front and a plastic panel on the back of the Galaxy S20 FE 5G. The back panel is curved on all four sides to fit the frame and has a smooth matte texture that feels quality.

  • The display’s glass is flat, which felt unusual last year.
  • It looks quite at home next to the premium Galaxy S21
  • Galaxy S21+ 71,999 (Review) handsets, which also have flat screens in 2021.

Specifications and software for the Samsung Galaxy S20

In 2019, Qualcomm introduced the Snapdragon 865 processor, which began appearing in smartphones in the first part of 2020.

It was the flagship processor utilized by practically all smartphone manufacturers in India. They prepared to release the first wave of 5G devices. The IP68 rating allows you to submerge your smartphone in water, and 15W wireless charging is very easy.

You may also use 4.5W to reverse charge other devices or accessories. While these features may not be essential for the majority of users, they certainly enhance the premium smartphone experience.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 maybe a year old, but it’s no wimp when it comes to everyday work and gaming. It delivers solid flagship-level performance. The phone outperformed the Exynos 990-powered Galaxy S20 FE (although some scores might not be directly comparable due to benchmark updates).

More details

Given that the Galaxy S20 FE 5G simply adds 5G capabilities to the spec sheet, it may not appear to be much of an advance to the casual user. . Alongside the 4G model, as it has been in other parts of the world.

With optical zoom, wireless charging. With an IP68 rating, the Galaxy S20 FE 5G may be the most complete low-cost flagship offering at the moment in terms of features. These features, as well as its bright OLED display, excellent cameras, long battery life, and reliable everyday performance, make it an appealing choice. However, because of the touch sensitivity concerns, it’s difficult to suggest to a gamer.
