Most of us have embraced and acclimated to the work-from-home atmosphere after a year of the epidemic. Yes, I miss my office’s physical environment, but I’ve grown to appreciate some aspects of WFH. If I didn’t have the appropriate tools for remote work, none of this would have been feasible. And it was here that the Galaxy Tab S7 FE surprised even me. It’s an Android tablet, not a PC, that wants to be your work and play buddy.
I’ve been mostly using the Tab S7 FE for writing and editing pieces, watching Netflix movies, participating in Zoom calls, and taking notes. The gadget has certain advantages and disadvantages, which you will discover as you read my evaluation of the Galaxy Tab S7 FE.
Convenience is important whether you work from home or at a co-working facility. I’ve been able to file stories while sitting on my balcony thanks to the Galaxy Tab S7 FE.
Take a look at this item; it’s so little and light. I can carry this gadget anywhere, including in Ola cabs. It fits effortlessly into a backpack or messenger bag, and the weight is barely noticeable. Even with the keyboard and S Pen connected, the 12.4-inch screen size feels adequate for a business tablet. This is one of my favourite features of the Galaxy Tab S7 FE.
The Galaxy Tab S7 FE has an aluminium back and a glass front, giving it a premium feel. The screen features rounded corners and crisp squared-off sides, comparable to the iPad Pro. Powerful stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and AKG tuning are housed on the tablet’s right and left sides. They can become rather loud, and the sound quality is far superior to that of my Surface Pro’s audio system.
Smart connections on one side of the tablet are meant to dock into the keyboard cover, which I will discuss later in the review. On the other side, you’ll discover a power button that, when pressed long enough, will activate the Bixby virtual assistant.
Although a shorter push will still lock the tablet, the option to turn it off altogether is concealed in the fast settings menu. I’m still perplexed as to why Samsung is pushing Bixby. The S-Pen pen is also included in the box, which magnetically connects to the back of the tablet and charges wirelessly. Though I thought the S-location Pen’s was a little strange, the stylus can be connected to the edges of the tablet.
The tablet lacks an in-display fingerprint scanner as well as a hardware scanner when it comes to biometric authentication. Face recognition is the sole way to unlock the smartphone.
The 12.4-inch TFT LCD display (2650x1600p) on the tablet is pretty excellent. Okay, before we go into a fight over OLED vs. LCD screens, let me just say that the screen on the Tab S7 FE is crisp, colourful, and gives a lot of detail. Sure, it doesn’t have an OLED display or a 120Hz refresh rate, but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad or inferior viewing experience. The screen is indeed bright enough to read e-books or binge-watch TV series on. I recently re-watched Sex and the City, and the Tab S7 FE’s screen is absolutely amazing for watching videos.
My smartphone and laptop are critical to my job. A device succeeds in my eyes when it does exactly what I want it to do. The device’s daily performance is more important to me than anything else. The Galaxy Tab S7 FE isn’t a replacement for my laptop, but it’s a decent substitute because it does a lot of things well when I don’t want to have my laptop with me. I’ll describe how I put the Galaxy Tab S7 FE to the test.

On the plus side, this device’s battery life is superior to that of a Windows laptop. On a single charge, the 10,090mAh battery took me through a full workday (almost 10 hours).
If you want a large screen for viewing material and checking email, utilise the S-Pen to jot down notes, and require processing power that matches your demands but wants a tablet that is portable and simple to carry, the Galaxy Tab S7 FE is the device for you. At the same time, you must be aware of its shortcomings, particularly in terms of software. If you don’t mind that (this tablet doesn’t allow desktop-only programmes), I think the Galaxy Tab S7 FE is worth considering.
