After updating to iOS 14.7.1, some iPhone users are reporting “No Service” issues. An Apple Watch unlocking problem and a zero-day vulnerability were addressed in the iOS version, which was released late last month. However, numerous users have flocked to Apple’s forums to say that after receiving the iOS 14.7.1 update, they are experiencing network coverage issues on their iPhone models. The problem appears to be widespread, affecting users of both older phones like the iPhone 6s and iPhone 7 and newer iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 models.

Discussion

On Apple Community boards, customers who have been affected by the “No Service” issue have expressed their dissatisfaction with the situation. On the Apple Developer Forums, some of them have also experienced the same issue.

“I lost signal after updating (sic) my iPhone 11 50,999 to iOS 14.7.1.

Some iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, and iPhone 7 owners responded to the initial forum post to confirm that the issue also affected their devices. 9to5Mac was the first to notice the user complaints.

Apple has created a support website exclusively for iPhone and iPad users who are experiencing “No Service” or network “Searching” troubles (Cellular version). If none of the other suggestions work, the article advises customers to restart their device, check for a carrier settings update, and reset their network settings.

Some of the impacted users said they tried everything Apple suggested on its help page, but nothing worked.

. Some of them have reported the same problem on the Apple Developer Forums.

“After updating (sic) my iPhone 11 50,999 to iOS 14.7.1, I lost signal. Many users feel uneasy while using these phones.

Some iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, and iPhone 7 owners reacted to the original forum post to confirmed the problem.

Solving issues

Apple released iOS 14.7.1 to address a bug that prevented Touch ID on iPhones from unlocking an Apple Watch with “Unlock with iPhone” enabled. The software also addressed a zero-day vulnerability for which the Indian authorities recommended that iPhone users upgrade their devices. However, it appears that while the iOS 14.7.1 update fixed some of the prior issues. It also caused network difficulty for several customers.

This isn’t the first time Apple has released a new public version of its iOS. Some users reported extreme battery drain after updating to iOS 14.6 in June. After updating iOS 14.2 in December, several iPhone customers reported a similar battery draining issue.

We may expect a patch to reach customers in the coming days. It is based on Apple’s number of complaints on its forums. It will debut as iOS 14.7.2. On the other hand, the Cupertino-based corporation.
