Xiaomi has announced the date of its next big live-streamed event, which will take place on August 11, the day before Samsung’s much-anticipated annual Unpacked presentation.

Is this a covert attempt to snare some of Samsung’s limelight and glory? Despite the fact that the two firms aren’t in the same league, Xiaomi‘s ten-year anniversary on August 10 will be a significant milestone for the Chinese electronics company.

According to an official announcement on Weibo from the corporate account, this event will also involve the launch of Xiaomi’s new Mi Pad tablet series, as well as the Mi Mix 4 next week, signifying a decade of growth for the mid-range electronics company.

The social media post, which merely promotes an event on August 10 at 7:30 PM CST. It was first seen by Android Authority (7:30 PM ET). According to the post, the event will highlight Xiaomi‘s recent “positive news,” as well as business founder Lei Jun’s “ten most difficult choices” throughout the last ten years of the company’s existence.

Even if Xiaomi didn’t share any details in its basic Weibo tweet, it’s only natural that these two most-anticipated Xiaomi gadgets would debut on that day.
