Google Launched Titan Security keys with two factors

Google Titan security keys have brought a new version of  USB -Type-A and USB Type -C connectivity.  First, Google has given a very easy option to connect these new USB types easily with every mobile. Furthermore, Both security keys get near field communication (NFC) connection with Google. These Titan security keys have debuted in the market in the year 2018. In addition, the motive of bringing these security keys into the market is to help the users against the hacker’s activities. Along with it, these keys also provide an external factor for authentication for different online portals.

Two different variants of Google Titan are in the markets which users can choose according to their needs. Google mentioned”NFC functionality is now supported by a wide range of Android phones and iPhones models. We are discontinuing the Bluetooth Titan Security Key and focusing on the easier and more widely available NFC capability. In addition, Google has provided a very good warranty period on its Bluetooth Titan security which came in the year 2018 and Google will be in a continuous working relationship with it.  Google shows that people who have iPad models with ports will get a unique USB Type-A + NFC security key. According to the Google Titan security panel, each device has a unique way to get connected which are as follows:

  • These keys usually support Android smartphones with android 5 or along with the latest version on Google play services.
  • iPhone and iPad will need IOS 13.3 Or higher to be connected with the Titan security keys.
  •  Furthermore, To be compatible with USB port and with the latest version chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Opera browsers supporting W3C Web Authentication are all needed by security keys to connect with computer.

Google’s Titan Security keys are available to buy from the Google online store.

  • The USB Type-C + NFC security key costs $35 (roughly Rs. 2,600)
  • The USB Type-A + NFC security key costs $30 (roughly Rs. 2,200)

Whereas, if we talk about the current security keys then they are pricing as follows:

  • USB Type-A security key supports NFC is of $25 roughly RS 19,000.
  • USB Type-C security key that doesn’t support NFC is $40 roughly Rs. 3,000.
